In 1968, ACI was founded in what was then East Pakistan as a division of Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI). Following independence, the business was established in Bangladesh on January 24, 1973, both as a public limited company and as ICI Bangladesh Manufacturers Limited. The Dhaka Stock Exchange also listed this company on December 28, 1976, and on March 9, 1994, the company’s shares were first traded. Later, on May 5, 1992, ICI plc transferred local management 70% of its shares. The company was subsequently registered under the name Advanced Chemical Industries Limited. On October 22, 1995, a listing with the Chittagong Stock Exchange was made. One of the top corporations in Bangladesh and one with a history of working with other countries is Advanced Chemical Industries (ACI) Limited.
